Urutan Garis Pewaris Tahta Kerajaan Inggris

 

Semua Dukes, Duchess, dan Viscounts? Tentu sulit untuk mengingat semuanya, namun berikut ini adalah sepuluh urutan pertama anggota keluarga kerajaan yang akan mewarisi tahta Kerajaan Inggris seperti dilansir Yahoo!, Jumat (29/4/2011):

1.       Charles, Prince of Wales: Ayah dari calon pengantin laki-laki dan pewaris tahta yang dikenal dengan usahanya melindungi alam dan karya arsitektur. Namun, publik melihat Charles sebagai orang yang kaku dan ketinggalan zaman. Sebuah poling di Inggris menyimpulkan sebagian besar warga Inggris lebih menginginkan suksesi langsung diberikan kepada William setelah meninggalnya Ratu, meskipun itu mungkin tidak akan terjadi.

2.       Prince William of Wales: Seorang Letnan penerbangan dan pilot di Angkatan Udara Kerajaan. William telah memenangkan simpati masyarakat Inggris sejak kematian ibunya, Putri Diana, saat dia masih berusia 15 tahun. Ada harapan besar bahwa William dan Kate akan membangkitkan kejayaan monarki dan membawa nasih baik bagi kerajaan.

3.        Prince Henry (Harry) of Wales: Harry, yang akan menjadi pendamping pengantin pria, memulihkan kembali reputasinya sebagai anak nakal dengan memberikan sarapan penyembuh  atau memulihkan keadaan setelah mabuk sampai pukul 06.00 pada Sabtu, 23 April. Sementara itu pasangannya pada pernikahan William adalah seorang sosialita dan calon pengacara, Chelsea Davy, yang selalu putus-sambung dengan Harry.

4.        Prince Andrew, Duke of York: Adik laki-laki Charles dan mantan suami Sarah Ferguson. Andrew memiliki pangkat sebagai Laksamana di Angkatan Laut Kerajaan, dimana dia menjabat selama Perang Falklands. Namun, pertemanannya dengan miliarder New York, Jeffrey Epstein, pelaku pedofilia, telah mempermalukan Keluarga Kerajaan.

5.        Princess Beatrice of York: Putri tertua Andrew dan mantan istrinya Sarah Ferguson yang berusia 22 tahun, Beatrice merupakan sepupu pertama William dan perempuan pertama dalam garis pewaris tahta kerajaan. Selama ini Beatrice jauh dari sorotan publik dan dikabarkan dia kuliah di dua universitas di London dalam beberapa tahun terakhir.

6.        Princess Eugenie of York: Adik perempuan Beatrice, Eugenie (21),  kuliah di Universitas Newcastle dengan mengambil jurusan sejarah, sastra Inggris, dan politik. Eugenie melakukan kegiatan amal untuk Yayasan Kanker Remaja, namun seperti kakaknya, jauh dari sorotan publik.

7.       Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex: Adik terkecil Charles, Edward memiliki perusahaan produksi film dan film dokumenter, yang saat ini telah ditutup. Pernikahannya dengan Sophie Rhys-Jones (saat ini seorang Countess of Wessex) pada 1999 mematahkan rumor, yang juga dibantah baik oleh Edward maupun Sophie, bahwa Edward adalah seorang gay. Edward juga sering dikaitkan dengan presenter TV kelahiran Swedia, Ulrika Jonsson.

8.       James, Viscount Severn: Putra Pangeran Edward dan Sophie yang tinggal bersama orangtuanya di kediaman kerajaan di Taman Bagshot, Surrey.

9.       Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor:  Louise (7) berada di belakang kakaknya, James, dalam garis pewaris tahta karena sistem primogenitur, yaitu garis pewaris langsung turun ke anak laki-laki pertama, sistem ini dijanjikan akan dihapus oleh pemerintah.

10.   Anne, Princess Royal: Satu-satunya anak perempuan Ratu, Anne baru saja menyelesaikan pertandingan menunggang kuda dan dia satu-satunya anggota keluarga kerajaan yang bertarung dalam Olimpiade. Pernikahan pertamanya dengan Kapten Mark Phillips, menghasilkan dua anak dan berakhir dengan perceraian. Sejak 1992, dia menikah dengan Laksamana Madya Timothy Laurence.
